I got this book in exchange for a review. Brooklyn's father borrowed money from the wrong people and now Brooklyn will pay for it. What a diabolic plan for those that can't repay their debt. Women processed and sold as sex slaves. Wow ! This book is something else ! The author is fantastic with letting the reader become one with Brooklyn, hoping she will survive.
What a mind bending story. Adrian and Brooklyn's story was a whirl wind romance with a dark twist. Two people fall in love 7 years prior and meet back up at the most challenging way. What do you do when you want to get your father's approval but no that there is no way in the current situation? Two people faced with the same torment of making their father happy but never can.
Brooklyn is in college for fashion design in New York and she is just about to start an internship with a prestigious fashion design firm. She gets an urgent call from her father to meet him outside the library. She gets there and is kidnapped because her father owes a lot of money to the Bellini family. Adrian is the eldest son in the Bellini family and he has been tasked to break and train Brooklyn to be a sex slave to be sold to pay the debt owed by Brooklyn's father. Oh and Brooklyn and Adrian met 8 years ago and spent the summer together. Can Brooklyn get out of this? Can Adrian get her out?
You're in for a dark ride with this one. Adrian is an intense man and not liking the training business anymore. His father gives him a special assignment with Brooklyn. Adrian and Brooklyn have met before and had a special connection. Brooklyn isn't sure what is going on but her father has given her up to pay a debt.
Lucas, Adrian's sick and twisted brother is completely messed up but he did redeem himself a bit at the end.
The business that Adrian's family is in can't be seen as forgiving, so Adrian must come up with a plan. That plan didn't pan out and things get crazy.
Looking forward to the next book.

This is a dark romantic suspense with a cliffhanger as it is part 1 of 3 books. It's got love, hate, revenge, suspense, violence, greed, etc. It was a little too dark for me and I had a hard time connecting with one of the main characters (Adrian) but I found myself wanting to read the rest of the series once I started it. So I actually recommend it. Adrian ends up having to protect Brooklyn from his younger sadistic brother along with his father. Don't want to spoil your read, so you will have to figure out what line of business the men are into.
I hated the 25% I read of this book. It has nothing to do with romance, love or sex. It is about kidnapping, torture and treating people worse than animals. It is sick and twisted. Don't read.
I was really excited to read this book but unfortunately (for me at least) i was so disappointed. I did enjoy the concept but i felt (1) the book was rushed; (2) wasn't as dark as i had hoped. Having read many dark reads i expected a lot more with the "being held captive" aspect. Sorry but can only give this 3 stars at best.
