This book makes more sense than any other that I have ever read and I have read a lot.
Finally a book that stresses health over weight loss!
Dr. Christensen lays out the research and explains the 'why' behind needing to concentrate on being healthy vice just worrying about what the scale says.
The UdP is not a diet, it is a process, a lifestyle change, that will make you a healthier person in mind, body, and spirit...and oh, by the way, you will probably lose some weight as a by-product of your healthy changes!
An easy to understand and well researched book. Dr. Christensen explains why traditional diet plans typically fail and offers an effective alternative. His process is not just a weight loss plan, but a complete path to better health and living, using eight principles of wellness. He provides helpful examples of his client’s experiences and successes, along with sample menus and journal pages. I like that the process encourages the use of a buddy or partner, so it’s something friends or couples can do together.
I've been searching for many years for a wellness guide that makes sense and works. I bought Dr. Christensen's book and read it in one day. It totally makes sense. I bought 5 more for my closest friends. It's a complete lifestyle that will make a difference. I am very excited to address the wellness perspective in my life by using the principles that Dr. Mike has laid out. Buy it. Yeah! for a simple Wellness plan with a by-product of weight loss. This plan is a perfect combination of all the things we "know" to be true about taking care of ourselves, laid out simply and clearly to provide sustainable changes and measurable results. The wisdom found in this book, assisted me in finding the space and support for healing old thought and behavior patterns associated with emotional eating and disconnection with my body and it's hunger signals.
After following Dr. Christensen's plan, I have lost 12lbs and feel stronger in my body and more peaceful in my mind.
